How Courtyard Homes Saved Christmas for Local Nursery Kids
For most of us, you can’t have Christmas without turkey and all the trimmings (or nut roast if that’s your thing).
For many of us, the festive fun isn’t the same without a glass of mulled wine to cope with the in-laws.
For some of us, a Yuletide jolly-up doesn’t hit the spot unless tunes from Mariah Carey and George Michael accompany it.
But one thing we can all agree on is that every child needs Father Christmas to show up and hand out presents.
Imagine Father Christmas not turning up to give nursery kids their reward for being on the nice list.
It’s a sad thought that was saved from becoming a reality thanks to the festive folk at Courtyard Homes.
The Culcheth-based estate agents pulled out all the stops when they heard that the kids at Dunky’s Day Nursery, also in Culcheth, were not having a visit from the man himself.
Dave Gibbons, owner of Courtyard Property, takes up the story he said: “My daughter works at the nursery and told me that they couldn’t get hold of Father Christmas this year. Maybe he’s changed his mobile number, which was my first thought, or perhaps he’s taking a break from Facebook.
“Our team in the office all had an emergency meeting, called in some favours, pulled some strings and managed to get a secret message to Santa that means he’s now turning up to hand out the presents.”
When pushed to reveal how the agency got Father Christmas to come, Mr Gibbons cryptically replied. “All I can say is sometimes Santa turns up a lot closer to ho, ho, home when you believe in him.”
So, thanks to Courtyard Homes, Christmas has been saved for one group of little believers.
Now, we can all raise a glass of Christmas cheer to that.
